Sevcan Sahin
Assistant Solicitor
Sevcan is an Assistant Solicitor in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team having qualified in May 2024. Sevcan completed her BA LLB at the Anglia Ruskin University and the LPC at BPP Law School before joining Moore & Tibbits in 2021.
Sevcan deals with a wide range of health and welfare cases including:
- Health and welfare applications under Section 21A and Section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Community care and Care Act 2014 matters
- Matters under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court
- Forced marriages
- Matters which involve medical treatment
Sevcan also regularly liaises with vulnerable individuals and their families, the Official Solicitor as well as representatives from local authorities, ICB’s and NHS Trusts when helping to progress matters in the best interests of our clients.
Sevcan is passionate about protecting the rights and interests of the vulnerable and is dedicated to ensuring clients feel supported, listened to and that their individual needs are identified and met.
Outside of work Sevcan has volunteered with charities, working with young disabled children and children within the care system. Charities that Sevcan has worked with include Barnardo’s and Eddies (a Cambridge charity).
She loves travelling with her husband in the UK and abroad and spends a lot of time with her family between Warwick and London.
Sevcan is bilingual in English and Turkish.
