Assistant Solicitor
Matthew is an Assistant Solicitor in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team having qualified in December 2024. Matthew completed his LLB at Lancaster University, joining Moore & Tibbits in January 2025.
Whilst studying at the University of Law, as a graduate solicitor apprentice, Matthew gained experience in various areas of law including litigation, contentious probate, education law and residential/commercial property transactions.
Within the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team, Matthew deals with a wide range of matters including:
- Health and welfare applications under Section 21A and Section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Community care and Care Act 2014 matters
- Matters under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court
- Forced marriages
- Matters which involve medical treatment
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing badminton, spending time with family and watching Leicester City matches (sometimes).
