Sophy Parsons
Case Manager | Court of Protection
Sophy joined the Moore & Tibbits Court of Protection team as a Case Manager in September 2025. Sophy has a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree from Aston University alongside various qualifications in health and social care and advocacy. Prior to joining Moore & Tibbits, Sophy worked as a support worker and later as a lead independent advocate at a local advocacy organisation for many years.
Sophy has specific experience working with vulnerable adults with disabilities and is qualified as an IMCA and IMHA. Her experience means Sophy has an in-depth understanding of the stress many families face when they need to navigate social care. From assessments and reviews, to disputes, safeguarding issues, legal challenges and funding disputes, Sophy has supported vulnerable adults and their families through it all.
Sophy can help people with all aspects of care including issues such as:
- Children transitioning to adult social care services and the relevant funding, assessments and packages of care required
- What to do if you have concerns that the package of support does not meet the individual’s needs
- Navigating the process of moving to an alternative placement in a different region and the funding implications
- Understanding the relevant legislation and the status of carers and the local authority
- The battles parents may face when their child transitions to adult social care
- Understanding safeguarding processes and the role of the court of protection
- Capacity assessments – what to do if you wish to challenge a capacity assessment
Outside of work Sophy enjoys spending time with her young family, completing DIY projects at home and holidays abroad.
