Enduring Power of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney is an older document designed to give authority to your attorney to make financial decisions on your behalf. Whilst you can no longer make new Enduring Powers of Attorney, the ones already in existence are still valid. Unlike Lasting Powers of Attorney, they do not have to be registered before being used UNLESS you begin to lose mental capacity.
At this stage your attorney should arrange to register the Enduring Power of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian. We provide a registration service and advice for attorneys regarding all aspects of the Enduring Power of Attorney.
